Message from our President Welcome to the Metro NY Region of the Porsche Club of America's website. My name is Michael Palumbo and I am pleased to tell you a little more about our club. Our 1800 or so members live on Long Island, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, Staten Island, and Westchester. We share a common interest in all things related to Porsche. We enjoy driving our cars on the track during Driver Education events, showing them off at Concours d'Elegance, driving competitively in Autocross and Rally, and participating in many other events. However, while the cars are important, in Metro, the people are more important. Personally, I enjoy the track events the most. I bought my first Porsche in 1988 and joined Metro. I started with concours and rallies and after a few years went to my first DE event and I was hooked. I started by helping out on the Metro line at DE events. After a few years I was appointed Advertising Chair. I was then elected Treasurer for two more years followed by Vice President and here I am today. In the six years I've been on Metro's board I have seen many good people put forth their best efforts on behalf of the club. If you have a Porsche and want to enjoy it in ways you only dream about with others who feel the same way please come to one of our events. I am confident that you will quickly come to view Metro as your second family. Thank you, Michael Palumbo |
